Jazz Reggae Festival 2008 @ UCLA

I was commisioned to be the official designer of the jazz reggae festival at UCLA in 2008. I designed the logo, all the print ads, flyers, and the shirts. The moto was "A weekend of Peace, Love, and Music" and encompassed a video that educated the audience on the history of reggae and jazz. The festival also initiated a "Be Green" push to become sustainable by using bio diesel and recycleable materials to minimize its effect of the environment. With this on my mind, I branded the festivals logo with a collage style identity of reggae and jazz with uses of organic waves/swirls and a earth tone color scheme.

Yahoo! (campaign)
Brand Identity
In 2005, I was a participant within the UCLA ad and marketing team. While a member, we were given the task of creating a new brand identity for Yahoo that would attract the demographic of teen-agers. The team focused on the research and the development of a teen based website that act on three levels of teen lifestyle: an area to be informed on teen gossip/news, act as a hub for their social networks, and a site that responds to their personal interests.

Jazz Club (colored pencil)
Traditional
This is a piece I made during one of my summers before my next year at UCLA during which I developed a taste for jazz. I wanted to make this piece to display how jazz has the tendency to evoke very personal emotions. Through color and pattern, I was able to symbolize the powerful nature of music and it rich undertones.
